CLICK IT OR TICKET is an education and enforcement campaign sponsored by the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (GOHS) and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The goal is to save lives and reduce injuries on Georgia roadways through strict enforcement of seat belt and child safety seat laws.
Although Georgians are buckling up in record numbers, the death rate continues at unacceptable levels. In 2000, one out of two fatally injured vehicle occupants in Georgia were reported as not using safety restraints.
During Click It or Ticket, Georgia’s law enforcement officers will ticket drivers who refuse to use seat belts and fail to properly restrain children.
