Health Insurance
Members may elect health insurance coverage with dependent coverage available at an additional charge.
Dental Insurance
Members may elect dental insurance coverage with dependent coverage available at an additional charge.
Life Insurance
Members may elect basic life insurance employee coverage starting at $40,000 and dependent coverage starting at $1,000 with additional coverage available at an additional charge.
Retirement
Members receive a defined pension plan and may retire at the minimum retirement age of 55 or with maximum benefit at age 65. Vested rights occur after 10 years of service.
Equipment
Officers will receive a annual uniform allowance of $600.00 to purchase uniforms and other duty equipment. [The Department will supply firearms, ammunition, leather gear, ballistic vest and badges]
Disability
Members are covered for on-the-job injury under the City Long-Term Disability Plan provided by AFLAC with individual short-term disability plans available at an additional charge.
Employee Assistance
Members have telephone access to confidential 24-hour professional counseling and medical advice free-of-charge to discuss marriage and family problems, work concerns, emotional strains, financial or legal issues, substance abuse, general health concerns, or minor emergencies or illness.
