HIRING PROCESS
|
Each selected applicant must successfully complete the following:

Written civil service exam

Written essay
-
Oral Interview
-
Polygraph examination
-
Psychological examination
-
Background investigation
-
Post conditional offer
-
Medical examination
-
Substance abuse testing
-
P.O.S.T. academy entrance exam
Each selected applicant will be required to provide the following
supportive documents to complete the hiring process:

Birth certificate and/or naturalization certificate
-
High School/GED diploma (state-certified GED certificates only)
-
College/University degree
-
DD214 (for prior military personnel)
-
Georgia Drivers License (must have prior to hiring)
-
Social Security Card
-
Police Mandate certificate and all P.O.S.T. training certificates
(for prior police personnel)
-
Court order(s) for any name change
-
Credit Report
-
Court documents resolving civil suits
Training Contract
Upon successful completion of all phases of the hiring process, the
successful applicant must sign a two year training contract to indemnify
the City of East Point for training and equipment costs in accordance with
O.C.G.A. §35-8-22.
